We are seeking an experienced Foundation Relations Associate to join our team in Southeast DC.

About the Position:

  • Write grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies for programming and general operating expenses
  • Collaborate with program staff and finance staff to develop budgets and track progress against fundraising goals/deadlines
  • Research and pursue new funding prospects, ensuring annual fundraising goals are met
  • Partner with the Finance team to develop and review grant application budgets, monitor activities, submit financial reports, and support other grant-related financial activities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage funding database and prospecting lists, completing wealth scans on potential prospects
  • Work with executive leadership to maintain relationships with donors, communicate progress of programs, and explore funding opportunities
  • Manage cultivation events, including invitations, RSVPs, and program logistics
  • Represent Building Bridges Across the River through participation in community outreach and have the ability to speak knowledgeably about our work

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • One to three years of grant writing/reporting experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience with funding databases
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and instructions
  • Ability to work collaboratively across organizations and program areas

Benefits and Compensation:

This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $60,000-$70,000. Benefits include PTO, Holiday Pay, Medical, Dental, Vision, and the ability to participate in the 401(K) Plan. Building Bridges Across the River is an equal-opportunity employer.
