Job Summary

Community Teamwork Inc is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our emergency shelter staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to clients in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide crisis management and emergency support to individuals in a congregate emergency residential shelter site
  • Enforce safety measures, program rules, and evening expectations using a trauma-informed and client-centered approach
  • Serve meals, provide guidance and information to clients regarding the daily activity schedule, rules and policies
  • Oversee security and safety, complete housekeeping duties, and ensure daily chores are completed

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working with individuals in need of social services (preferably low-income individuals) preferred
  • Empathy and compassion for others
  • Excellent crisis management, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Good attention to detail
  • Bilingual skills preferred
