Job Summary
We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider interested in working full-time in the outpatient and inpatient care of patients with cardiac disease. The successful applicant will join our high-paced and thriving Cardiology Division.
About the Role
The APP will work closely with our team of cardiologists and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with cardiac disease in both outpatient and inpatient settings
- Perform central line and arterial line placement
- Take comprehensive histories and perform physical examinations
- Evaluate and treat patients based on history, physical examination, radiological, laboratory, and other diagnostic test results
- Initiate referrals to other healthcare providers and/or consult with attending physicians or collaborating physicians
- Document and bill for direct care provided
- Stay up-to-date with current research and evidence-based decision-making in all clinical practice
- Participate in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research
- Demonstrate responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a PA, FNP or ANP in Cardiology, Critical Care or Cardiac Surgery
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Ability to lift, lower, push and pull objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted and exert up to 50 lbs of force
