Project Superintendent Job Description

Sundt is seeking a highly skilled Project Superintendent to lead our construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising field and administrative operations to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and subcontract change orders to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop the project management plan, including scope management, procurement, environmental, time, financial, quality, and safety plans.
  • Conduct weekly coordination meetings with project teams and subcontractors, and prepare daily field status reports to ensure timely project progress.
  • Coordinate the documentation of constructability issues, potential design conflicts, and clarifications with relevant personnel.
  • Develop and manage the construction plan for successful project execution, ensuring work is executed according to contract terms and conditions in a profitable manner.
  • Interact effectively with owners, teams, and stakeholders to maintain a positive project environment and exceptional client experience.
  • Manage field operations, ensuring project success in terms of profitability, safety, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and update the original CPM Project Schedule, ensuring it remains current to manage the project effectively using LEAN processes and Weekly Work Plans.
  • Prevent claims, identify potential claims, quantify, document, mitigate, and resolve the effects of those that occur in a timely manner.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to assigned project team members and subcontractors, planning, reviewing, developing, and managing the project team to ensure relentless execution of the project.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing the Project Quality Management and Safety plans according to Sundt standards as part of the project management plan.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of all punch lists and developing a schedule as required by the owner for the successful start-up and commissioning of all systems.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential.
  • Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience required.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, and methods, negotiations, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety.
  • Must have construction project and supervision experience in similar types of facilities.
  • Must have water/wastewater treatment project experience.
