MedStar Health is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to provide high-quality patient care in a variety of settings.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or Doctoral degree from an accredited school of Speech Language Pathology and be licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing evaluation services, including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results.
  • Explaining evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family and incorporating patient and family in the goals setting.
  • Implementing treatment protocols based upon evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and the evolving health care environment.
  • Consulting with other healthcare professionals as indicated.
  • Recognizing and documenting changes in patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or the need for medical/rehabilitation consultation.
  • Completing appropriate discharge planning and follow-up care.
  • Accurately and timely documenting and charging for patient care activities.
  • Demonstrating effective time management and meeting productivity expectations.
  • Managing an accurate schedule.
  • Demonstrating a professional commitment to provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in our patient consumer driven environment.
  • Taking initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization.
  • Serving as a clinical instructor to assign students.
  • Assisting with orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, and volunteers.

MedStar Health offers a competitive salary range of $72,758 - $123,260 and a comprehensive benefits package.
