Job Title and Brief Description:

A skilled driven tool rebuild specialist is responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and rebuilding driven tools used in various types of machines and other precision equipment.

Assemblers may need to troubleshoot issues, identify, and replace worn or damaged parts, and ensure that the rebuilt spindles meet specified tolerances and performance standards.

Strong mechanical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, a focus on quality, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for this position.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team are also required.



Qualifications:


Three to five years' experience in building or repair or similar work such as automotive engine/transmission repair work.

Knowledge of bearings, bearing theory, and proper bearing assembly protocol.

Able to read and understand prints and bill of materials.

Ability to use and read precision measuring devices.

Experience with inspection computer software and ERP systems preferred, but not required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must be able to lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds regularly.

Must be able to remain standing up to 90% of the time; up to 10 hours per day.

Constantly positions self to disassemble, reassemble, and measure assembly components.

Constantly uses hand tools, pneumatic tools.



Other Duties as Assigned:


Disassemble, evaluate, and assemble driven tools and various other machine tool components to OEM specifications.

Inspect component parts to prints and guided specifications.

Clean, lubricate, and mount precision bearings with proper handling techniques.

Utilize various tools and calculation methods to ensure proper setup, preload, and arrangement of bearings within a wide variety of spindle designs.

Operate manual machines, grinders, etc.

Maintain labor hours within MRP and ERP systems to properly track production hours on assigned jobs.
