Job Summary

Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at the Ohio Center for Pediatrics in Dublin, OH. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing administrative and clinical support to ensure the efficient delivery of primary health care and creating a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the clinical care team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes open communication between the care team, patients, and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with other care team members to address gaps in care and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Promote and facilitate improved clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and efficient use of resources.
  • Act as a patient advocate to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.
Essential Functions
  • Set up medical equipment and perform related tests as applicable.
  • Administer injections and perform routine specimen collection and point-of-care tests.
  • Interview patients regarding medical concerns and obtain medical history.
  • Measure and record vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height, and weight in patients' electronic health records.
  • Responsible for blood draws and specimen processing.
  • Assist in performing routine medical procedures as requested.
  • Prepare patients and treatment rooms for exams.
  • Review physician orders and lab requests and follow up as needed.
  • Communicate test results to patients as directed.
  • Assist in patient education with related educational tools, periodicals, flyers, and handouts.
  • Assist with applicable forms and patient paperwork.
  • Respond to patient phone calls as appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program.
  • MA certification preferred.

Candidates must be self-disciplined, energetic, passionate, and innovative, with excellent communication and documentation skills. Knowledge of vaccine administration, storage, handling, and documentation is required. Ability to maintain confidentiality and react calmly in emergency situations is essential.
