Senior Tunneling Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tunneling Engineer to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our Geotechnical and Tunneling National Team, you will be responsible for leading the design and analysis of major underground projects involving TBM tunneling, underground structure design, and construction.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead tunnel and shaft design on major underground projects
- Perform engineering analysis for design of tunnels in soft ground, mixed conditions, and rock
- Interpret geotechnical and geological data, characterize ground conditions, and derive engineering parameters
- Prepare GBR, GDR, and various design memos
- Prepare contract documents, including drawings and specifications
- Coordinate with other disciplines and clients
Requirements
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical, tunneling, and structural engineering
- B.S. in Civil Engineering (Preferred M.S. in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering)
- Professional Engineer registration in California
- Proven experience in design and analysis of tunnels and shafts under seismic loadings
- Knowledge with tunneling/structural/geotechnical software (Plaxis, FLAC, ADINA, RS2/3, etc.)
- Practical experience in preparing contract drawings, specifications, and cost estimates of tunnel projects
- Ability and willingness for travel, field work, and work at project site
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation
Expected Salary: $140,000 - $160,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
