Job Summary

This role is part of our dynamic team at Services for the UnderServed (S:US), a leading organization dedicated to empowering individuals with mental health diagnoses, substance use disorders, and physical disabilities. As an IPS Employment Specialist, you will play a vital part in helping individuals achieve their career goals and integrate into the community.

About the Job

The IPS Employment Specialist will be a key member of our mobile multi-disciplinary treatment teams, working closely with clients to identify their employment needs and provide tailored support. Your expertise will involve assessing clients' readiness for employment, skills evaluation, and collaboration with ACT Team specialists to develop personalized employment plans. You will also facilitate job coaching, benefits counseling, and advocate for clients' rights and preferences within the ACT program.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess client's employment interests, design interventions to promote progress towards community integration, independence, career and education goals, and trainings.
  • Lead work-readiness or similar groups educating program participants about the job market.
  • Integrate IPS Employment goals and services with tasks of all ACT Team members.
  • Complete vocational and education needs assessments by identifying history, supports, and immediate needs, recommending treatment objectives for the individual's service.
  • Support around job and education trainings, resumes, etc.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Service field (e.g., psychology, social work) or related field (e.g., human resources).
  • Initial & on-going training in vocational services.
  • Initial & on-going training in benefits and financial management in relation to barriers to goals.
  • Ability to travel independently, or with reasonable accommodations, throughout the community and outreach with local employers.
  • Six (6) months of personal or professional experience in human services.
  • Experience working with vocational needs of persons with disabilities.
