Job Summary:

As a clinical healthcare provider at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Student Health Center, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to our diverse student population. Reporting to the Medical Director, you will be responsible for providing routine preventative care, urgent care, and health education to students with a wide range of clinical needs, from acute illness evaluation to STI screening, and from depression management to laceration repair. With a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support for our students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to RIT students, including comprehensive evaluations, treatment plans, and patient education
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for students
• Participate in standing committees related to the services provided by the Student Health Center, including AAAHC accreditation
• Develop and implement health education programs and materials to promote student wellness and health literacy
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines
• Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines, research, and best practices in healthcare
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• New York State license to practice medicine as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or as a Physician Assistant (PA)
• DEA license eligibility - must be maintained in good standing
• CPR certification - must be maintained in good standing
• 3-5 years of relevant clinical experience, with a focus in adult, family, adolescent, college health or other primary care area
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office functionality, including PowerPoint, word processing, and Excel
• Experience with one or more electronic health records
• Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information
• Ability to establish, build, and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups and individuals
• Effective interpersonal, written, and electronic communications skills
• Knowledge of Deaf culture, American Sign Language (ASL), or willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

• Sign Language fluency
• Master's Degree in a health-related field
