Job Title: Senior Technical Game Designer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Game Designer to join our team at Meta. As a Senior Technical Game Designer, you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and implementing gameplay mechanics and core systems for our VR games.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design end-to-end experiences with satisfying and novel core mechanics and loops.
* Create prototypes independently and in collaboration with other designers.
* Implement gameplay mechanics or systems into the game.
* Develop new types of combat or encounter mechanics.
* Help establish preliminary processes to align cross-functional teams.
* Contribute to strategic decisions, working with the Design and Product teams.

Requirements:

* 5+ years of game design experience or a minimum of 2 shipped titles on any platform that have been successful.
* Experience with technical aspects of game design such as coding in Unity or Unreal with C# or C++.
* Experience with scripting languages such as Lua or Typescript.
* Experience leading end-to-end development efforts and designing games from concept to launch and live ops.
* Experience coordinating and collaborating with diverse cross-functional teams to bring a vision to life.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Shipped a minimum of 3 titles on any platform that have been successful.
* Experience developing and shipping game projects from zero-to-1 (concept and prototyping to launch).
* General design knowledge across a range of design specializations.
* Experience in design strategy in addition to fluency in executing such as tuning the feel of the game.
* Experience utilizing research and data to drive strategy and decision making.

What We Offer:

* Competitive salary: $165,000/year to $231,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits.
