Eye Care Professional

We are seeking an experienced Eye Care Professional to join our team at Palmetto Ophthalmology Associates, P.A.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide direct and indirect patient care, participate in maintaining medical record documentation, and serve as a provider's scribe as needed. They will be responsible for initiating patient evaluations, performing pre-exam testing, and completing requests for prescription refills. Additionally, they will assist in minor surgical procedures and educate patients regarding ocular medications and contact lens care.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate patient evaluations and document all pertinent findings accurately
  • Perform pre-exam testing, including visual acuity, refractometry, and IOP assessments
  • Responsible for patient flow and work-up for all physicians
  • Complete requests for prescription refills with thorough documentation
  • Assist in minor surgical procedures and laser treatments as directed by physician
  • Educate patients on administration of ocular medications and contact lens care
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked properly
  • Adhere to safety, confidentiality, and HIPAA guidelines

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Flexibility and ability to multitask while maintaining professionalism
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Exhibit high quality through attention to detail
  • Clear and efficient communication with physicians, staff, and patients
  • Able to work in multiple locations as needed
