Job Description

The CNC Machine Operator position at Aerotek is responsible for aiding in the manufacture of components and subassemblies within the machine shop. This involves using pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, and machine tools to produce parts that meet the required specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reads blueprints and uses measurement devices to ensure parts comply with the blueprint
  • Operates CNC lathes and mills, as well as other tools, to produce parts
  • Familiar with calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments
  • Operates, loads, and unloads CNC mills, lathes, saws, and conventional machines
  • Deburrs parts with belt sander, drill press, or bench grinder
  • Reads blueprints and QC own parts
  • Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels
  • Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units
  • Computes addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions and decimals

Requirements:

  • 1+ year experience with CNC Machine Operation is preferred
  • Learns skills of the manufacturing trade and retains information
  • Can follow written and verbal details to complete assignments
  • Adheres to company 5S standards and employee handbook standards
  • Accurately records labor times and adheres to productivity standards
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Works with management team to communicate problems or ideas for improvement
  • Supports and participates in continuous improvement programs
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Work Environment:

This is a fully on-site position in Tamarac, Florida. Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Will require heavy work (lifting greater than 30 pounds). Ability to carry 50 lbs. for 100 feet unassisted. Machinery operation requires the use of safety PPE equipment including eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toe shoes, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Regularly required to stand or sit, and move about the facility. Ability to stand for 8 hours per day. Requires proper coordination and motor skills to work with power/hand tools as needed. Shift hours: 1st Shift 7 am - 3:30 pm, 2nd Shift 3:30 pm - 12 am.
