JOB OVERVIEW

Deliver comprehensive nursing care in alignment with established protocols and policies of the healthcare organization.

The Registered Nurse in the Acuity Adaptable Unit will manage medical/surgical overflow patients with a patient-to-nurse ratio of up to 1:5.
Department: Critical Care Unit

Shift Timings: 19:00 - 07:30

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administers direct nursing care in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Implements and oversees patient care plans.
  • Records and communicates patient conditions as necessary.
  • Acts as the primary coordinator for all disciplines involved in patient care.
  • Follows through on physician and nursing orders.
  • Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
  • Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
  • Must thrive in a high-pressure environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Proficient technical skills.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Commitment to patient care excellence.
  • Graduate of an accredited RN nursing program.
  • Minimum of two years of recent cardiovascular ICU experience.
  • Active, unrestricted Wisconsin RN state license.

  • COVID vaccination, including two shots and a booster.
