Labor and Delivery Nurse

A patient care specialist in Labor and Delivery provides exceptional obstetric, neonatal, and gynecologic care in a supportive environment.
About the Role- Emphasizes emotional support, patient education, and superior medical care to enhance overall patient well-being.
- Works in a high-pressured environment, managing patient assessments, care planning, and team collaboration to deliver world-class healthcare.
- Performs comprehensive assessments on all patients within the appropriate time of admission, utilizing skills of observation, communication, and examination, including data obtained from patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Plans individualized patient care, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnoses, standards of care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems, and attainable outcomes.
- Plans for patient teaching, discharge, and post-discharge needs as appropriate for the patient population.
- Functions independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment, demonstrating adherence to policy, procedure, and competency-based assessment, with no pattern or trend of problem.
- Handles, transports, stores, prepares, and administers medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Documents accurately and timely.
- Reassesses patient condition, evaluates patient response, and modifies plan of care accordingly and in a timely manner.
- Accepts charge responsibilities and assigns staff with consideration of patient condition and care requirement, acuity, and complexity of patient's condition. Facilitates staff development.
- Maintains healing and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Maintains position-specific qualifications. Attends mandatory in-services/staff meetings.
- Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications, unit duties, and special assignments.
- Maintains personal appearance in a way that reflects professionalism and demonstrates to patients, visitors, and coworkers the importance placed on cleanliness, orderliness, and safety.

Benefits and Requirements- Licensed by the State of Tennessee.
- Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- At least one year perinatal experience preferred.
- Certified Lactation Consultant, preferred.
- NRP certification within six months of hire.
- ACLS certification or agreement to obtain within six months of hire.
- Level I, Level II, and fetal monitoring certifications within 1 year of hire.
- Able to function in stressful situations.
- Able to return to work within 1 hour when on call.

Our salary range for this role is $70,000-$100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
