We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Progressive Community Health Centers, Inc. as a Float Medical Assistant.
Job Summary:Under the direction of the Clinic Supervisor, the Medical Assistant will assist medical staff in examination and treatment of patients, maintain exam and treatment rooms, operate medical equipment, and provide injections and/or treatments.
Responsibilities:- Maintain supply and inventory for the exam room, adhering to clinic and OSHA requirements.
- Review patient charts for completeness and order processing, including referrals, lab, x-ray, etc.
- Inform scheduled patients of any delays due to physician's lateness, emergencies, schedule backup, etc.
- Log patient information in respective data banks, such as the State Immunization Tracking System.
- Responsibly maintain and stock patient care areas.
- Keep the Medical Assistant work area clean and tidy.
- Anticipate and monitor patient needs prior to and during examination, treatment, emergency, acute illness, or procedure.
- Prepare and assist patients for examination/treatment/procedure by medical staff.
- Greet, assess, and interview patients, obtaining past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, and complete vital signs.
- Review current medications, allergy history, chief complaint, and brief interrogation of a complaint.
- Act as liaison between doctor and patient.
- Participate in training and skill development of new personnel.
- Float to other areas as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- High school graduate or equivalent, with completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited school or training program.
- State certification and EPIC experience are preferred.
- Experience in a community health, public health, or community hospital setting is a plus.
