About the Job

This role is an essential part of our after-school program, assisting the After-School Coordinator in implementing educational activities and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Execution: Assist with preparing materials and equipment for after-school instructional activities, ensuring everything is ready for a productive session.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Follow training and lead small group activities planned by the After-School Coordinator, fostering engagement and meaningful learning experiences among students.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the After-School Coordinator in adapting curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students from various cultural, socio-economic, and learning backgrounds.
  • Maintenance and Supervision: Maintain a clean and organized environment for students, assist in supervising students as assigned, and help maintain equipment and materials.
  • Communication and Support: Provide tutorial services as needed, communicate effectively with staff members, students, parents, administrators, and other stakeholders using tact and good judgment.
  • Safety and Confidentiality: Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Experience Working with Children: Successful experience working with children is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Background Clearance: Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State Board of Education regulations.
Benefits and Compensation

The salary for this position is $$45,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits consistent with the system's approved compensation plan. The length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
