Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Accountant to join our team at Silgan Dispensing Systems. As a Payroll Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing payroll functions, including processing bi-weekly paychecks and direct deposits, maintaining employee records, calculating withholdings, and ensuring timely submission to relevant agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll functions, including bi-weekly paychecks and direct deposits
  • Maintain accurate employee records and calculate withholdings
  • Ensure timely submission of payroll data to relevant agencies
  • Prepare quarterly and year-end payroll tax filings, as well as annual W-2 and 1099 forms
  • Handle invoicing, process payments, and follow up on overdue accounts
  • Administer the Fixed Assets program, including approving capital projects, overseeing capitalization, and conducting physical inventory checks
  • Assist in maintaining the general ledger through journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities
  • Provide necessary information and documentation for external auditors during annual reviews
  • Manage treasury functions, including processing customer and vendor payments, and reconciling bank accounts with the general ledger
  • Maintain comprehensive records of financial documents and their supporting materials
  • Recommend enhancements to department processes and internal controls
  • Conduct financial analysis as needed
  • Support monthly forecasting processes
  • Assist with special projects as required
  • Ensure adherence to GMP, FDA, OSHA, and other regulatory standards in alignment with company policies
  • Follow company safety protocols
  • Maintain regular attendance

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Associates in Accounting or similar field of study preferred
  • Must be able to work over 40 hours per week if necessary
  • Experience using Workday, JD Edwards Enterprise, and On Base software preferred

Salary Range: $53,000 - $60,000 (non-exempt)

  • Occasionally required to bend at waist
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Vision ability including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
