Job Title: Product Sustaining Design Engineer
Job Description
The Product Sustaining Design Engineer is responsible for ensuring the long-term reliability, manufacturability, and performance of existing LED lighting products. The engineer will be involved in diagnosing issues in existing designs, proposing design modifications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose issues in existing LED lighting designs and propose design modifications.
- Ensure long-term reliability, manufacturability, and performance of products.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and customer requirements.
- Focus on single piece part design including aluminum extrusion, fabricated sheet metals, or steel.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve existing designs.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in product sustaining, design engineering, or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues in both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for lighting products (UL, CE, RoHS).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams.
