About the Role

Voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak LLC is seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Machinist to operate various machines and equipment to ensure the proper cleaning and preparation of castings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate jib, overhead crane, manual mills, and Grade B machines safely and efficiently
  • Read and follow production schedules
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Adhere to Nortrak's Safety, Quality, and Environmental Procedures, Practices, and Policies
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in machining
  • Forklift and Crane certification preferred
  • Knowledge of G and M codes
  • Ability to read work orders, ITPs, blueprints, rulers, and tape measures
