About the Role
">The Emergency Psychiatric Technician will provide supportive care to patients in a secure environment, working under professional clinical staff supervision. Key responsibilities include monitoring patients with identified risks and implementing safety strategies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for psychiatric patients of all ages.
- Perform duties according to established methods and procedures.
- Engage in general department functions to support overall operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or college-level work in psychology or human services preferred.
- Prior experience in healthcare, mental health, security, or public service is beneficial.
Licenses/Certifications
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association within 3 months of hire.
- Endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification also required within 3 months.
Key Skills
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to the position.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to utilize multiple internal and external communication channels.
- Strong interpersonal and observation skills.
- Capacity to identify and report relevant patient observations and care deviations.
- Calmness and effective decision-making in high-pressure situations.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $17.29 - $25.66 per hour. Additional benefits and perks may be available based on company policies.
