Housing Director for Multifamily Properties

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Community Director to oversee the daily operations of a multifamily property. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the property meets or exceeds operational and financial goals.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in affordable housing programs, including LIHTC, HUD programs, USDA-Rural Development, and HCD. They must also possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of a multifamily property with up to 300 units and manage a staff of up to 5 Full-Time Employees (FTEs).
  • Supervise on-site staff, including Assistant Community Directors, Resident Services Coordinators, Compliance Specialists, Leasing Managers, and Maintenance Technicians.
  • Manage the maximum revenue potential of the property through lease expirations, timely turnover, and rent collections.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies, maintain occupancy levels, and exhibit professional leasing techniques.
  • Maintain resident files, ensure confidentiality, and meet periodic reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with risk management items, OSHA requirements, and facility maintenance needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in affordable housing programs.
  • Affordable Housing Accreditation or other applicable designations.
  • 1 year of experience in a similar leadership role within Residential Property Management.
  • High School diploma or equivalency certificate required; College degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License, good driving record, current motor vehicle insurance, and an operable vehicle meeting FPI's standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google Apps, property management software, email, and internet.
