Job Overview:

In this dynamic role as a Senior Fleet Mechanic at US Foods, Inc., you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our diesel equipment fleet. With over seven years of experience in heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanics, you will troubleshoot and repair diesel equipment while performing preventative maintenance to guarantee reliability and efficiency.

This position involves managing repair documentation, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, as well as responding to road service calls as needed. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to uphold our high service standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshooting and repairing diesel equipment including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.
  • Performing preventative maintenance within company standards
  • Completing documentation of all repair orders, PM list, and parts accountability
  • Handling road service calls; performing road rescue/transport equipment as needed
  • Maintaining inventory and proper recordkeeping
  • Backing up other maintenance shop personnel
  • Assuming increased responsibility and certifications as needed
Requirements:
  • A valid Class-A CDL license (DOT certified preferred)
  • At least 7 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs
  • Computer and software experience
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is between $22 and $38 per hour, depending on relevant experience and qualifications. Additionally, benefits may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
