Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced social worker to join our team as a Field Child Well-Being Professional. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in child development, trauma-centered care, and bilingual skills in English and Spanish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy to other sites during surges and as needed to provide support and technical expertise to DHS staff.
  • Work across stakeholder groups to ensure trauma-informed care and activities are implemented, sustained, and modified as needed.
  • Engage with children to support their well-being, including identification of children in distress and conducting psychiatric triage when necessary.
  • Coordinate seamless referrals of children to community behavioral or physical health providers, if necessary.
  • Assist in the coordination of care for children at the request of CBP facilities leadership, including direct support to Supervisors, Agents, Medical Staff, and Caregivers.
  • Serve as a daily resource to DHS staff through escalating a child's identified psychosocial needs and providing direct care to children in crisis.
  • Facilitate connection across all existing services within the facility to support the well-being of children.
  • Assist in the documentation and information transfer for individual cases, upon request from Sector and Facility leadership.
  • Provide regular information regarding child wellbeing during musters or other regular staff meetings at the facility level.
  • Conduct environmental scans of the facilities to recommend and implement appropriate measures to create a child-friendly environment.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work or an equivalent degree in Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant Behavioral Science.
  • Independent and unrestricted licensure as a LICSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LPC.
  • 2 or more years of demonstrated experience post-full licensure in child development, culturally competent, and trauma-centered care.
  • 2 or more years of demonstrated experience post-full licensure performing evaluations in direct engagement with children and their families.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team-based environment.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Available to travel, as required.
  • Ability to handle crisis intervention, conflict, confrontation, or other complex people situations with compassion and decisiveness.
