As a Protein Scientist - Biophysics and Biochemistry Specialist, you will play a critical role in our team by providing biophysical and biochemical characterization of our candidates.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Biophysical and Biochemical Characterization: Perform comprehensive protein analytics using techniques such as size-exclusion chromatography (SEC-MALS), hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)/differential scanning fluorimetry (DSF), capillary electrophoresis (CE-SDS), and capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF).
  • Developability Assessments: Plan, coordinate, and conduct in-depth developability assessments to inform lead candidate selection by evaluating stability, aggregation propensity, and structural integrity.
  • Implementation of new technologies: Stay up-to-date on new and emerging technologies, evaluating assays/instrumentation, internalizing and developing methods that add to the characterization toolbox.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Requirements:
  • A B.Sc. in Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline, with 8+ years of relevant industrial experience, or an M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline, with 6+ years.
  • Strong hands-on experience with protein analytics techniques such as SEC, HIC, DSC/DSF, CE-SDS, and cIEF.
  • Proficiency in characterizing post-translational modifications, protein aggregation, and assessing protein stability.
  • Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills, with familiarity using statistical tools and software for data processing.
