Role Overview

The State of Indiana is seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Case Manager to join our team of dedicated professionals in the Department of Child Services. This critical role requires a strong commitment to protecting the well-being and safety of children and families. As a Family Case Manager, you will work closely with families, children, and community stakeholders to assess needs, develop case plans, and provide supportive services to promote family stability and child safety.

Key Responsibilities

Investigate allegations of child abuse and neglect, making recommendations for case disposition and service provision. Conduct home studies, family histories, and assess risk factors to inform case planning and decision-making. Develop and implement case plans to promote child safety, family stability, and self-sufficiency. Collaborate with community partners, including foster and adoptive families, to ensure consistent and effective service delivery. Maintain accurate and thorough case records, preparing reports and presentations as needed. Participate in on-call rotations to receive and respond to after-hours allegations of child abuse and neglect.

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field, or equivalent experience in human services. Strong knowledge of child protection laws, policies, and procedures is essential. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including children, families, and community partners. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are required. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
