About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Skilled Laborer to join our team at PCL Construction Services, Inc. in Denver. As a Skilled Laborer, you will play a critical role in the construction process, working closely with our experienced team to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct concrete placement and assist with pump management and cleanout
  • Assist with patching and rubbing concrete
  • Place concrete with crane and bucket
  • Skilled stripping formwork, preparing forms, cleaning & stacking of forms
  • Be a Certified Traffic Control Person based on project needs
  • Be qualified at minor scaffold assembly, single or multiple stages
  • Roll scaffold erection
  • Create formwork scaffold erection
  • Be proficient in placement and tying of rebar/wire mesh as needed
  • Safely operate hand backfill tools/equipment
  • Safely operate skid steer (including bucket, sweeper and fork attachments) and all terrain forklift
  • Signal a crane
  • Place Caisson Concrete
  • Set up and utilize a fall protection system
  • Properly vibrate concrete
  • Finish concrete (top of walls, pier caps, housekeeping pads, etc.)
  • Connect and maintain gas and propane heaters
  • Be familiar with temporary power systems and how to relocate, set up and dismantle them
  • Create winter protection of concrete and subgrade, slabs, and/or walls
  • Be familiar with ground thaw equipment
  • Manage stormwater
  • Assist in implementation, oversight and maintenance
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in commercial construction
  • Traffic Control Certification
  • Familiar with field concepts, practices and procedures
  • Knowledge and use of hand and power tools
  • High regard for safety and pride for quality of work
  • Self-motivated and team player
  • Able to multi-task, show initiative and ask questions as needed
  • Able to follow directions to ensure completion of daily tasks
  • Have a high degree of flexibility in a changing environment
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Strength to perform average lifting of up to 50 pounds, from the ground to above head
  • Should be able to navigate through the worksite on a daily basis
  • Occasionally climb up and down ladders, scaffolding, and stairs
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, high places, and under pressure
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening

The salary range for this position is between $28.00 and $35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
