Cross Categorical Teacher

Racine Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cross Categorical Teacher to provide special education services in a school setting. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse academic, functional, and behavioral needs.

This position requires a Wisconsin Special Education Cross Categorical #801 license or other valid special education license. A valid WI Driver's license is also required. We seek candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related fields and preferably some experience working with children or young adults with diverse needs.

• Gather and conduct informal assessment data, collaboratively develop and write appropriate IEPs, and conduct ongoing progress monitoring activities for students receiving special education services.
• Effectively case manage and deliver specialized instruction to students as indicated in their IEPs in regular or special education environments within the school setting.
• Collaborate with regular education teachers to align and implement curricular supports and supplementary aids and services.
• Promptly complete necessary records, forms and reports and maintain records as needed to comply with district, state and federal regulations.

This position will primarily be in the school setting, requiring the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, up to six hours in an eight-hour day. The ideal candidate should be able to perform light physical work, frequently lifting up to ten pounds without assistance in an indoor setting.

$55,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
