Telecommunications/Electronics Installation Specialist

Semper Valens Solutions is seeking a skilled Telecommunications/Electronics Technician to lead telecommunications installations on customer sites. The ideal candidate will perform site surveys, document current site telecommunications configurations, and develop engineering installation packages.
The successful candidate will design and optimize telecommunications topologies, direct and lead development of project drawings, and develop equipment and system test plans. They will also be responsible for developing on-site installation schedules, mobilizing the telecommunications installation team, and directing documentation of configuration changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform site surveys and assessments in accordance with LAN/WLAN design upgrade requirements.
- Participate in pre-deployment site survey meetings and ensure personnel have necessary drawings and programs.
- Submit daily site survey reports and complete outbuildings connectivity spider diagrams.
- Survey WLAN devices, infrastructure, and RF signatures, and perform fiber/copper cable testing.
- Collect and organize network configurations for LAN and WLAN, and physically inspect proposed cable pathways.
- Survey CMR/SEA communications rooms and associated infrastructure for proper grounding and bonding.
- Ensure all equipment and systems are properly bonded to the primary bonding busbar or secondary bonding busbar.
- Survey power receptacle types, plug types, power distribution units, and UPS systems supporting LAN/WLAN equipment.
- Complete survey close-out activities and remain on-site until customer acceptance.
Requirements:
- 2 years of telecommunications/electronics vocational training or professional certification from an ABET-accredited technical school or equivalent military school, and 5 years of experience in two or more of the identified specialties.
- IT/ADP Level I or IT/ADP Level II certification.
- Proficient in troubleshooting telecommunications equipment, system interfaces, and power/ground issues.
- Experience in troubleshooting and activating circuits, preparing test reports, and using common test equipment.
- Experience performing surveys and assessments in accordance with LAN/WLAN design upgrade requirements.
- Willing to travel in performance of required work responsibilities.
Clearance:
- DoD Secret Clearance required based on Tier V investigation.
