Job Title: USPS Technical Training Instructor

USPS CONTRACT TRAINING INSTRUCTOR

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Training Instructor to join our team at the National Center for Employee Development (NCED). As a Technical Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in preparing USPS employees to excel in their roles through comprehensive and engaging technical training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical training courses to USPS employees in a classroom, laboratory, and/or virtual setting.
  • Design and maintain training courses and materials in coordination with training development specialists.
  • Manage training activities to ensure course objectives are met during the prescribed time period.
  • Evaluate and document student performance and comprehension of course materials.
  • Identify student learning obstacles and develop action plans for resolution.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and practices of adult education and training.
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment by following established working processes and procedures.
  • Ability to condense and simplify complex information and communicate clear oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to instruct adults with varied backgrounds and levels of experience in complex subjects.
  • Ability to plan and schedule activities, manage time, and meet deadlines sufficient to manage a classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of electronic principles, AC and DC circuitry, circuit analysis, schematic interpretation, etc.
  • Knowledge of computer systems used for obtaining reports, word processing, web browsers, and custom software systems and functions.
  • Knowledge of processing and maintenance operations as they pertain to package sorting equipment.

This position requires that you gain and maintain a USPS Sensitive Clearance. As a non-exempt employee, working on a federal contract this position is subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA) Wage Determination (WD) No Revision No. 22. Health & Welfare Benefits, paid leave accrual and sick leave accrual will be offered in accordance with SCA.
