Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Deputy Sheriff Cadet. This is an exciting opportunity to begin your law enforcement career and contribute to the safety and well-being of our community.

Responsibilities
  • Attend and complete a comprehensive training program at a Law Enforcement Academy
  • Participate in academic classes, hands-on training, and physical conditioning to develop the necessary skills and knowledge for a successful law enforcement career
  • Undergo rigorous training that includes weapons handling, defensive tactics, and emergency vehicle operations
Requirements
  • Sufficient education, training, and experience to demonstrate the ability to perform the above tasks
  • Possession of high school or GED equivalent and 38 semester units or 57 quarter units of college
  • Two years of full-time active-duty military service with honorable discharge or two years of full-time experience working as a peace officer within a correctional facility can substitute for the required college units
Special Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Have never been convicted of a felony
  • Must pass a thorough medical examination and meet established medical standards
  • Must successfully demonstrate and maintain physical fitness to perform the full scope and functions of the job
