Job Opportunity: Core Video Engineer
We're seeking a highly skilled Core Video Engineer to join our team. If you have a passion for designing and developing video flow architectures, this could be your ideal role.
This is a remote position based in the U.S., and we offer a competitive hourly rate of $50-$55, determined by your work experience and skills.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop MPEG2 / MPEG4 video flow architectures, ensuring seamless integration with our clients' systems.
- Implement changes to video encoding and transport devices to meet our clients' architecture requirements.
- Collaborate with our team to design and implement video acquisition and edge designs, driving business growth and innovation.
- Develop, launch, and verify new video flows from acquisition to edge devices, meeting the highest quality standards.
- Investigate and troubleshoot video network issues, driving resolutions that meet our clients' expectations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation to support changes to video network design, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Manage ticketing and approvals related to all work performed, streamlining our processes and improving efficiency.
- Schedule and coordinate with external teams to implement changes to the video network, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
- Provide weekly project updates, reflecting all work performed and driving business growth.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years' experience configuring video devices, with a strong understanding of DCM, DM6400, Prostream, and Drake devices.
- Experience working with Harmonic, Arris, and Cisco QAM devices, with a deep knowledge of video transport methodologies and designs.
- Understanding of MPEG2, MPEG4, ASI, H.264, and IP encoding and transport, with experience working in large, production environments.
- Experience with ticketing systems, such as Remedy, Service Now, and Jira, and a proven track record of completing projects on time.
- Ability to create and deploy configurations for Encoders and QAMs, either manually or through automation, and migrate services from EOL devices to new devices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively to drive project goals and meet customer expectations.
