Communications Coordinator

LYRIC is seeking a highly skilled Outreach and Communications Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our development and communications department, you will play a critical role in promoting our organization's mission and values through effective communications and outreach strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications plan to highlight LYRIC's vision and community impact.
- Co-create the strategic direction of LYRIC Communications with the Communications and Development Director.
- Manage LYRIC's digital communication channels, including social media, email newsletters, and website content.
- Develop and implement LYRIC Content Creation Guidelines, LYRIC Style Guide, and LYRIC Social Media guidelines for staff and youth.
- Support LYRIC's communication campaigns, including the LYRIC Capitol Renovation Campaign.
- Engage community and external stakeholders in dialogue regarding community needs.
- Maintain website updates, including consistency in pages and calendaring.
- Support community events, including community outreach, documentation of events, and organization of photos for internal and public use.
- Attend agency staff and Board meetings, retreats, and gatherings as requested.
- Provide input and co-develop LYRIC's communications budget with the Development and Communications Director.
Requirements:
- 2 years of verifiable experience in communications planning and implementation for a nonprofit organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to compose, edit, and proofread materials.
- Strong project management and planning skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects within deadlines.
- Extensive computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and graphic design experience.
- Experience working with social media on behalf of an organization and knowledge of youth issues, particularly those affecting LGBTQQ youth.
- Commitment to ongoing self-improvement, youth development, social justice, and anti-oppression principles and practices.
