Aerotek seeks a skilled Pipe Welder with 2-5 years of experience in multi-pass, all positions fillet and butt welds using the SMAW process. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in mirror welding and familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry. In this contract position based out of Suffolk, Virginia, you will work on various construction jobs throughout Hampton Roads.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Pipe Welder who can read blueprints and drawings, take or read measurements, and plan layout and procedures. As a Pipe Welder at Aerotek, you will determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements, set up components for welding according to specifications, and perform multi-pass, all positions fillet and butt welds using the SMAW process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fuse inserts and weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel pipe using both SMAW and GTAW processes
  • Mirror weld using SMAW and GTAW processes
Requirements:
  • 2-5 years of TIG and STICK pipe welding experience
  • Experience with pipe/metals using various techniques including electric, gas, arc, or other equipment
  • Ability to pass SMAW 6-inch weld test
  • Proficiency in SMAW and TIG welding
  • Knowledge of carbon and stainless steel welding
About the Compensation:

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Aerotek offers weekly pay, employee benefits including medical, dental & vision, life insurance, health advocacy and employee assistance programs, a 401(k) plan, and employee discounts.
