Job Summary

At Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparation of the unit and patient rooms for receiving admissions transfers and post-operative patients.
  • Applies and uses appropriate equipment as needed.
  • Understands and implements the measures used to reduce the risk of health-associated infections.
  • Assists with the admission transport transfer and discharge of patients including the care of personal property and clothing.
  • Labels belongings bed and hospital equipment with patient identification.
  • Assures collection of all belongings at the time of transfer/discharge.
  • Provides catheters care daily and/or as needed.
  • Distributes water records correct intake and output when indicated within shift.
  • Prepares patients for surgery and/or other procedures including prep and clip vital sign taking and recording assisting patient with bathing and/or voiding and removing and securing dentures jewelry and other belongings.
  • Repositions for comfort and offers bathroom assistance.
  • Assists RN with post-mortem care including labeling and securing of all patient valuables.
  • Provides patient care as directed by licensed nurse to include but not limited to: enemas sitz baths applying and removing ice bags k-pads binders and/or pelvic/buck's traction blood glucose monitoring and simple dress changes.

Requirements

  • State of Florida Nursing Assistant Certification Preferred
  • High School Diploma preferred
