Job Title: Recreation Therapist

Join our team as a Recreation Therapist and play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for planning and conducting activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and conduct activities for resident groups, working individually or as a member of a treatment team or treatment program.
  • Participate in MDS, Care Plans, initial resident assessments, continuous observation, documenting behavior changes, cognitive skills, collaborating with other disciplines and care givers of the overall care of the Veterans as well as assisting other Recreation Therapists in all activity programs.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic recreational activities that cater to the diverse needs of our residents.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to care.
  • Document resident progress and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
  • One year of experience in planning and administering a therapeutic recreation program, or current credentials as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) issued by the National Council For Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
  • Current licensure by NYS as a Creative Arts Therapist.
