- A fast-paced unit that works closely with the Provider Hospitalist Team who is in house 24/7 to attend to our patients' needs\
- Multidisciplinary collaboration between Nursing, Care Managers, Providers, and Ancillary Services to ensure high-quality care and support\
- Individualized orientation process to ensure each new team member's needs are met\

Your Role
\As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will perform patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care activities to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of patients. You will be responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by ThedaCare.
\Key Responsibilities

- Performs delegated patient care activities using evidence-based practice and specific competencies for the patient population served\
- Checks patients' vital signs, height, and weight, as needed, based on patient type\
- Provides compassionate care and listens to patients' concerns and guides them by answering any questions or concerns\
- Identifies and escalates changes in patient status or patient risks to prevent crisis\
- Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports to care team\
- Repositions, transfers, ambulates, and transports patients\
- Assists patients with basic needs (such as hygiene, eating, using the restroom, and dressing)\
- Obtains and reports patient intake and output\
- Performs electrocardiograms (ECGs) as directed\
- Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection\
- Provides care that is age appropriate, culturally specific, and developmentally appropriate in an environment that promotes patient safety\
- Demonstrates professional and therapeutic relationships with patients, families, team members, and providers\
What You'll Need
\To succeed in this role, you will need:

- A high school diploma or GED required\
- Previous healthcare experience preferred\
- American Heart Association HealthCare Provider Life Support (BLS)\
Work Environment
\You will work in a fast-paced medical unit with a variety of medical diagnoses, including Cardiac, Pulmonary, Renal, Oncology, Infectious disease, Neurological, Psychiatric, Surgical, and COVID-19.
