Job Summary
We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits package, including comprehensive health benefits, retirement savings, and loan forgiveness programs. The successful candidate will possess a valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, as well as certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing initial assessment and triage on all patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
- Planning care according to appropriate nursing and medical needs.
- Performing ongoing assessment and evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment modalities and care implemented based on review of patient laboratory test and procedure results.
- Confirming compliance with applicable statutes regarding child, sexual, and other abuse reporting.
- Administering medication, recording vital signs, and documenting patient information in the medical record.
- Instructing patients and families on health and discharge instructions, as well as follow-up clinic visits.
- Maintaining preparedness to respond to emergency situations, such as Rapid Response (RRT), Code Blue, internal and external disasters.
- Participating in Performance Improvement activities in the ED and Hospital-Wide.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must hold a valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, as well as certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA). A strong background in emergency nursing, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care are essential.
