Capital Markets Team Member

Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is seeking a skilled Capital Markets Team Member to join its U.S. team. As a key member of the Capital Markets team, you will play a critical role in the firm's capital markets activities, working closely with the Acquisition, Asset Management, and Finance teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Source and execute commercial real estate financings, including running marketed processes, negotiating term sheets, and closing transactions.
  2. Manage MSIM's financing relationships, including prospecting new relationships in growth areas.
  3. Analyze industry and financing provider data to inform strategic decisions.
  4. Share proprietary MSIM market data and insights across the North American Acquisition team.
  5. Assess opportunities for modifications and refinancings, prepare credit papers, and provide regular risk reporting to various committees and senior management.
  6. Collaborate with internal groups to identify efficiencies in the operating model.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in structured products or commercial real estate debt origination, risk, credit, or asset management.
  2. Familiarity with various commercial real estate transaction structures, including joint ventures, bridge loans, construction loans, and securitization.
  3. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  4. Ability to devise and implement new processes and procedures.

Wage Transparency Statement:

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $125,000 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
