Facilities Maintenance Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Hampton Inn Waldorf. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the operational integrity, safety, and appearance of our property.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior facilities staff to ensure seamless property operations and address any maintenance requests or projects efficiently.
- Support preventative maintenance tasks, including filter replacements, minor HVAC upkeep, and assisting with plumbing and electrical systems to prevent breakdowns.
- Assist with groundskeeping and facilities, including basic landscaping duties and keeping outdoor areas safe and clean.
- Perform basic repairs in guest rooms, such as fixing room fixtures, replacing light bulbs, and addressing minor electrical or plumbing issues.
- Conduct safety and security checks, including inspecting fire alarms, smoke detectors, and other safety equipment to ensure all systems are operational.
- Support pool maintenance efforts by testing water quality and assisting with routine pool equipment checks to ensure guest safety.
- Manage inventory and tools, ensuring they are stored properly, accessible, and organized.
Requirements:
- Basic maintenance skills, including experience with minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in facilities management and maintenance tasks.
- Guest-oriented mindset, with a commitment to addressing guest concerns promptly and ensuring their safety and comfort during their stay.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with other departments and senior facilities staff.
- Adaptability and ability to handle a variety of tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
- Attention to detail and proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
- Physical requirements, including ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and handle tasks requiring physical effort and the use of tools.
