Mobility Expert and Trainer

Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Mobility Expert and Trainer to work at a Medical Facility in Pennsylvania.
About the RoleThis registry position involves teaching clients with visual impairments independent living skills, recommending mobility devices, and assessing client functioning.
Key Responsibilities- Teach clients with visual impairments adaptive living skills, including medication management, personal care, and meal preparation.
- Recommend and provide training on mobility devices such as human guides, electronic travel aids, and other adaptive equipment.
- Assess client vision, orientation, and mobility skills, as well as social and emotional issues, cognition, and physical abilities.
- Develop rehabilitation plans collaboratively with clients based on assessment results and needs.
- Monitor client progress and adjust rehabilitation plans as needed.
- Masters Degree (preferred) or bachelor's degree in orientation and mobility from an accredited college or university.
- Eligibility for certification as an 'Orientation and Mobility Specialist' from ACVREP.
- Knowledge of developmental aspects of O & M, including impact of various eye conditions and techniques of teaching.
