Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automated Controls Design Engineer to join our team at KPG Automation LLC.

Salary and Benefits
  • Competitive salary range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and programming custom automated assembly machines from concept to acceptance. This includes:

  1. Understanding and conceptualizing electrical and controls design and programming
  2. Decision-making responsibility for issues related to concept, design, programming, debug, and IQ/OQ/PQ of the machine
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a controls-related engineering field or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of controls engineering experience in custom automation
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD software, such as SolidWorks Electrical
  • Knowledge of electrical system regulations, including NEC, CE, UL, and others
  • Proficiency with PLC & HMI programming, preferably Allen Bradley
  • Familiarity with motion control devices, such as VFDs and servos
  • Familiarity with industrial robots, preferably Fanuc
  • Familiarity with industrial vision systems, preferably Cognex/Keyence
  • Familiarity with basic ethernet networking
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
Preferred Skills

A plus would be proficiency in ABB and RobotStudio, TM Flow, Omron Mobile Planner, and Sysmac Studio, as well as experience with palletizing applications and Fanuc PalletPro.

Travel Requirements

This position requires occasional travel to vendor or customer facilities, both domestic and international, estimated at 10-20% of the time.
