Ambitious Salary Package

The estimated annual salary for this role is around $95,000 - $110,000 based on national averages for similar positions in the United States.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

This Registered Nurse position will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient-centered care in our inpatient oncology medical surgical unit. The successful candidate will assess patient conditions during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status promptly.

Working closely with oncology-certified nurses and cancer experts, you will create and implement personalized care plans to meet each patient's unique needs. This may include performing procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.

You will also educate patients, families, and caregivers about their medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures to ensure complete understanding.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License
  • 1 year of oncology medical surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification
  • Certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred
