Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Scientist to join our clinical research team at Sutter Health.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position working in our laboratory, where you will be responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing and providing guidance to colleagues. You will participate in quality control and assurance activities, evaluate test results, and contribute to the maintenance of accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately perform clinical laboratory testing in areas including chemistry, coagulation, hematology, urinalysis, microbiology, serology, and transfusion services.
• Provide functional guidance to Client Service Coordinators and Phlebotomists on specimen collection criteria and result reporting.
• Participate in quality control, preventive maintenance, quality assurance, and proficiency testing activities.
• Evaluate test results for validity prior to reporting.

Education and Qualifications:

• A Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) is required.
• One year of internship or experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.

Work Environment:

This is a non-exempt position with a regular schedule, working 40 hours per week. The pay range for this role is $51.91 to $64.54 per hour, depending on location and experience. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
