We're looking for a skilled leader to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead traffic signals, poles, pedestrian features, and related electrical and mechanical traffic control devices.

Your Role:

  • Lead a specialized crew to install traffic signal poles, overhead signals, and related parts.
  • Ensure project plans are understood and followed to deliver high-quality results.
  • Conduct regular site checks to guarantee quality and safety standards.
  • Work closely with the Superintendent to obtain necessary materials, tools, and personnel to avoid delays.
  • Transport crew and equipment to job sites as needed.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports, including timesheets and production logs.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and managing your team.
  • Attend weekly meetings to discuss work progress.
  • Verify equipment condition with operators, maintain cleanliness, and report repairs to the Equipment Manager.
  • Ensure company vehicles are well-maintained and follow all company rules.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and providing proper PPE.
  • Deliver weekly safety talks and address any safety concerns on the job.
  • Participate in crew performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Approve time-off requests, report incidents, and handle disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Monitor and submit crew hours using the iPad system.
  • Foster professional relationships with inspectors, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Be prepared to take on additional tasks assigned by management.

What You Bring:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in traffic signal installation or a related field.
  • A valid Texas Driver's License is required.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to read and comprehend instructions and construction plans.
  • Basic mathematical operations proficiency.
  • A strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving skills, and initiative in managing schedules, materials, and equipment needs.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Consistent and timely attendance with flexibility to work overtime and varying schedules as needed.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, often at heights, and involves physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. The ability to operate hand tools, power equipment, and heavy machinery safely is essential. The job also demands repetitive motion, precise hand-eye coordination, and the capacity to meet the physical demands of a fast-paced construction environment.

Travel Requirements:

Must be willing to travel within the State of Texas as needed, with potential overnight or out-of-town stays.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
