Salary Range

The estimated annual base salary for this position is between $62,400 and $65,000.

Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Technical Designer to work with our growing Kids Division, focusing on exciting new licenses and brands such as Under Armour, Billabong, Roxy, and Quiksilver.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in style and fit approval process with cross-functional partners to meet all deadlines and address issues for resolution with technical designers and fashion designers.
  • Work closely with the Technical Design Manager to create accurate initial specs and determine proper fit and construction.
  • Measure and prepare all samples for fit sessions.
  • Participate in fit sessions, taking accurate notes during the session, appropriate recommendations for fit and construction issues.
  • Adhere to established fit, construction, and safety standards by producing accurate specification packages including sketch details, base size specifications, grading, and construction.
  • Communicate development and fit information to overseas vendors through written reports, sketches and/or pattern corrections.
  • Review and comment on digital reports from overseas Technical Design team.
  • Field issues from proto through production.
  • Support technical design workload by creating fit schedules and maintaining tracking logs and measurement records.
  • Participate in 3D initiatives.
  • Support additional technical design projects and initiatives as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong Knowledge of Garment Construction: You must possess a thorough understanding of garment construction, fit standards, patternmaking, grade rules, and key fabrications.
  • Comprehensive Understanding of Child Safety Guidelines: Familiarity with child safety guidelines is essential.
  • Fast-Paced Environment: You must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Time Management and Organizational Skills: Good time management and organizational skills are necessary to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Task Completion: You must have the ability to follow through with task completion and meet requirements.
  • Multitasking: Ability to multitask and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Superior Organizational Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to collaborate with colleagues and communicate with vendors.
