Pediatric Pharmacist for Patient Care in Hospital Setting

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital on a PRN basis.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will be available more than four shifts per month and have both weekday and weekend availability. As a Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist, you will provide pharmaceutical care to assigned patients under the supervision of a more senior clinical pharmacist/manager.
You will evaluate and interpret physician orders and dispense medication and other pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with established operational procedures, professional standards or practice as well as state and district and Federal laws.
Minimum Qualifications- Education: Doctoral degree PharmD or an equivalent Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy required
- Experience: 1-2 years of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting required; PGY-1 preferred
- Licenses and Certifications: RPH - Registered Pharmacist Licensure in Washington, DC required; Board certification preferred
This position requires a relatively high level of problem-solving to find solutions to difficult human, technical, clinical or administrative problems.
You will need to analyze problems and develop solutions, often performed according to existing procedures and instructions but requiring analysis of problems and development of solutions.
This involves determining appropriate methods and task sequences and verbal and written communication skills.
BASIC computer skills are also preferred.
This position has a hiring range of $48.36 - $91.51/hour and is open to those who can work independently and effectively advise, consult or counsel others to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas or actions.
