Supporting Educator for Young Children

La Scuola International School seeks a dedicated Supporting Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children and be passionate about early childhood education. They should also be bilingual and bi-literate in Italian and English with native or near-native proficiency in Italian. A nurturing personality, creativity, and excellent multitasking skills are essential for this role. The selected individual will support the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child, perform care-giving activities, supervise children at all times, and assist teachers in implementing positive guidance strategies.
Job DescriptionThis is a supporting role that requires flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to excellence. The Supporting Educator will work closely with the Division Director and Head of School to implement the daily program and ensure that all aspects of the curriculum are met. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing developmentally appropriate educational support for children
- Assisting teachers in implementing positive guidance strategies
- Supervising children at all times inside and outside the classroom
- Cleaning the classroom environment and common areas
- Performing other duties as requested by the Division Director or Head of School
To be considered for this position, applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children. Bilingual and bi-literate individuals with native or near-native proficiency in Italian are highly preferred. The ideal candidate will also have a strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in our community.
Compensation and BenefitsThe successful candidate will receive a competitive salary range of $22-$26 per hour, commensurate with experience and credentials. As a condition of employment, candidates must provide documentation to prove eligibility to work in the United States. Final candidates will need to pass both Criminal Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance and a physical exam, and provide a recent copy of a negative TB test and other immunization records.
