About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. As a member of our Cardiac Surgical IMCU department, you will provide high-quality care to patients undergoing cardiac surgery and other complex procedures.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering patient-centered care. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring optimal outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and admit patients to the Cardiac Surgical IMCU unit
  • Round regularly to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements
  • Diploma RN, Associate's Degree RN, Bachelor's Degree RN, or Master's Degree RN from an accredited nursing program
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or compact/multi-state eligible
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
