Maintenance Custodian

Finger Lakes Community Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Custodian to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and tightening loose fixtures.
• Conduct minor electrical repairs, such as resetting breakers, replacing switches, and maintaining light fixtures.
• Assist with basic plumbing tasks, including unclogging drains, repairing minor leaks, and replacing washers.
• Perform minor carpentry work, including patching walls, painting, assembling furniture, and installing shelves.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and supplies; ensure they are in good working condition.
• Identify and report major repair needs to the Facilities Manager for further action.
• Assist with emergency maintenance tasks, including water leaks and other urgent repairs.

• Perform basic cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting as needed.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms; replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure waste is disposed of properly.
• Assist with maintaining clean and orderly common areas such as lobbies, break rooms, and kitchens.

• High School or Equivalency Diploma required
• Prior maintenance, contracting, or construction experience required
• The ability to work flexible hours -- some evenings are required
• A valid New York State driver's license in compliance with FLCH drivers' policy

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to reach above shoulder level to work, bend, squat, sit, stand, stoop, and kneel.
• Must have vision that is adequate to read memo's computer screen, registration forms, and other documents.
